Scholarship Opportunities
We offer a small number of competitive scholarships. Awards include the Donald Snygg Graduate Scholarship, the Dorothy and Arthur Eichinger Memorial Scholarship, Thomas and Shirley Goooding Graduate Award and several others.
Externally funded fellowships and scholarships are also available from many industries, foundations, adn large organizations such as the National Science Foundation and the Ford Foundation.
Travel Assistance from several sources is available to assist with the cost of attending professional development events, conferences, or other research opportunities.

Federal and State Government Assistance
Most aid available from Federal and State government assistance programs are in the form of loans, which must be repaid at a predetermined interest rate over a period of time. To see what types of loans are available to you, you should visit the Federal financial aid website at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

Diversity Fellowships
The Graduate Diversity Fellowship program supports full-time graduate study for students who will contribute to the academic diversity of SUNY Oswego. Master's level students are eligible for an award of up to $12,00 for full-time study.
Students who participated in an EOP/HEOP/SEEK program as undergraduates are eligible to participate in the Graduate Opportunity Program. Students must be formally accepted into a graduate degree program to be eligible for EOP scholarship awards.
This program is subject to annual budgetary approval.

Standard Graduate Assistantships
Graduate Assistantships are available in many departments and offices throughout the college campus. Each position is designed to give you an opportunity to gain practical work experience which compliments your academic experience.
Most Assistantships offer both a stipend and a tuition scholarship, while others may offer a tuition scholarship without a stipend. We offer a variety of assistantships for you to explore.

Teaching Assistantships
Teaching Assistanships are dedicated for those students interested in classroom instruction. As a teaching assistant, you may be asked to provide partial instruction for general courses, lead discussion sections for large lecture classes ore serve as an instructor in a laboratory setting.
Most Teaching Assistantships offer both a stipend and a tuition scholarship, while others may offer a tuition scholarship without a stipend.

Research Assistantships
Research Assistantships are for you if you are interested in collaboration with faculty or conducting your own research. These are awarded during your first or second year of study and provide financial support for research in a number of areas including Chemistry, Human Computer Interaction, the MBA program and a variety of programs in the School of Education.
The Research Assistantship normally includes a stipend and a partial tuition waiver.

Summer Stipends
Summer Stipends are also available consisting of awards approximating $5,000. These stipends support collaborative faculty-student research which promotes continuity for you to pursue research projects with faculty, year-round.
