Our faculty have distinguished themselves through their innovative methods, research prowess and ability to connect with students. Many of these teachers have earned such recognition as the SUNY-wide rank of Distinguished Teaching Professor, Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Teaching, President's Awards for Scholarly and Creative Activity and Research and President's Awards for Advisement Excellence.
Oswego's professors have also won national and international awards for their books, research and scholarship. But all the awards are only icing on the cake. At our learner-centered institution, faculty know that helping our students grow and realize a better future, one person at a time, provides the greatest rewards imaginable.
Dr. Alfred Frederick, professor of curriculum and instruction, is a six-time Fulbright Award winner for his work in Benin and Brazil. He received a 2009 Achievement Award from the Syracuse Post-Standard, which produced this video.
