Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing and soulful interpretations, the Ariel Quartet has earned a glowing international reputation. The program includes Beethoven's Quartet in F Major, Op. 18, No. 1; Britten's Quartet No. 2; and Schumann's Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44. The WAC Steering Committee is a standing committee of the Faculty Assembly. It meets bi-weekly during the academic year, on Tuesdays at 12:45.
Faculty seats on the committee, filled through an election of FA, include one representative each from the School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Communications, Media and the Arts, Penfield Library, and the College Writing faculty within the Department of English, along with two representatives from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and one at-large faculty representative. The committee also includes one representative of the College's central administration, and the committee is free to appoint up to three at-large members from the college's faculty, students, and staff during any given academic year. Ex-officio members include the Writing Across the Curriculum Coordinator, the Director of General Education, the Director of the Center on Excellence in Learning and Teaching, and a representative of the Writing Center.
