SPECIAL SUMMER INSTITUTES

SUNY Oswego Energy Institute
The Energy Institute is a two-week program designed for current and future middle and high school physical science and technology education teachers that addresses energy topics relevant to current and local needs. The program will run from July 6 to July 15. For more information about this program, click here.

Hollywood P.O.V. Program
Hollywood POV offers a behind-the-scenes look on location in Los Angeles and Hollywood for college students who want the inside scoop on the entertainment industry. This program is schduled for every other year and is expected to run during Summer 2011.

Geology Field Program
The Geology Field Program provides undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to learn field geology and conduct geologic research under rugged and rustic conditions in the Adirondack Mountains. This program is scheduled for every other year and will next be offered during this coming summer (2010).

 

SUMMER COURSES

SUNY Oswego's Summer Sessions provide the opportunity for current and visiting students to catch up, stay on schedule, or move forward by taking classes this summer.
You may register for our summer courses online starting Monday, March 1!


SUMMER SESSIONS 2010 CALENDAR
MayTerm: May 17 - May 28 (two weeks)  *NEW THIS YEAR*

Session 1: May 24 - June 11 (three weeks)
Session 2: June 14 - July 2 (three weeks)
Session 3: July 6 - July 23 (three weeks)
Session 4: July 26 - August 13 (three weeks)
Session 1-2: May 24 - July 2 (six weeks)
Session 3-4: July 6 - August 13 (six weeks)
Session 1-4: May 24 - August 13 (twelve weeks)

Classes will not be held on Monday, May 31 (Memorial Day) or Monday, July 5 (Independence Day Celebration).

Our listing of Summer Sessions 2010 courses will available online in mid-February. 


PAYMENT INFORMATION

If you register for a summer course between March 1 and March 31, you must submit payment for it no later than April 15. If you register on or after April 1, you must submit payment for it within 24 hours. You can do this by proceeding to myoswego.oswego.edu, signing in, and then clicking on "Accounts Summary." PLEASE NOTE THAT BILLS WILL NOT BE SENT TO STUDENTS REGISTERING FOR SUMMER COURSES AFTER APRIL 1.


SUMMER COURSE OVERLOAD POLICY 
Students MAY take a MayTerm course and a Session 1-2 or Session 1-4 course at the same time. (This will not be considered an overload.)

Students MAY NOT take a MayTerm course and more than one Session 1-2 or Session 1-4 course at the same time. No exceptions will be granted.

Students MAY NOT take a MayTerm course and a Session 1 course at the same time. No exceptions will be granted.

Any combination of courses during the 13 weeks of MayTerm and Sessions 1-4 that exceed the credit hour limits listed below will require permission of the Associate Dean of the student's division. Students must possess a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 in order to make such a request:

3 weeks of classes = maximum of 4 credit hours scheduled
6 weeks of classes = maximum of 8 credit hours scheduled
13 weeks of classes = maximum of 14 credit hours scheduled

Descriptions for most of our summer courses are located in SUNY Oswego's online course catalog. A few of our summer course offerings do not currently have a course description listed in the course catalog. Click here to view these course descriptions once the summer course schedule is available.


COURSE NOTES

Students are advised to click on the CRN number in Course Availability to see important notes pertaining to their courses, such as "Permission of Instructor Required" and  special requirements that must be completed prior to registering for their courses.
