Professional Certificate Programs

AMA Professional Courses and Certificate Programs are designed to build or enhance professional knowledge, skills, and leadership. They are recognized benchmarks of professional achievement.

Through a flexible, learner-centered curriculum, the program integrates core knowledge with practical applications. People may enroll in courses on a certificate or non-certificate basis.

AMA Professional Courses and Certificate Programs provide quality resources to meet your objectives. All courses carry continuing education units (CEUs) that may be applied to satisfy ongoing professional requirements.  Customized courses to groups on-site at individual companies are available.

Certificate in Leadership and Management

  • Leadership Skills for Managers
  • Managing and Achieving Organizational Goals
  • Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting for Non-financial Managers, or, Fundamentals of Inventory Management
  • Communication Skills for Managers, or, Interpersonal Communications
  • Two electives

Certificate in Human Resources Management

  • Fundamentals of Human Resources
  • Fair, Square and Legal: A Manager's Guide to Safe Hiring, Managing, and Firing Practices
  • How to Plan and Conduct Productive Performance Appraisals
  • Communication Skills for Managers, or, Interpersonal Communications
  • Two electives

Electives

Any class not required to meet your specific program certificate requirements will be considered an elective. 

AMA Course and Certificate Program Details

  • Participants who successfully complete four core courses and two electives will be awarded a certificate from SUNY Oswego in partnership with AMA.
  • All courses are taught at the Oswego State Education Center in Phoenix, NY (Route 481, Exit 14, in the Oswego County Industrial Park, just five minutes north of Great Northern Mall).
  • The single course fee of $319 includes tuition, books, and materials.
  • Save $219! The normal price for six courses required to earn a certificate is $1,914. You'll save $219 dollars when you purchase your six-course Certificate Program as a package for only $1,695.
  • Persons with disabilities who need accommodations to successfully complete a course should contact the Disability Services office at 315.312.3358.
