To be eligible for New York State certification, teacher candidates registered in college teacher education programs are required to complete 100 clock hours of classroom experience prior to student teaching. The Field Placement Office works closely with the Curriculum & Instruction Program, the Technology Education Program, and the Vocational Teacher Preparation Program to arrange field placements for teacher candidates. The configuration and placement procedures for each practicum vary depending your upon program and the block you are completing, but all practica are a requirement of a specific course and are directly linked to course content.

All C & I Adolescence, TESOL and Childhood Education candidates who have not registered & signed up for Fall Practicum with the Field Placement Office must sign up during one of the following scheduled times: (The sign-up will take roughly 15 minutes to complete)

Practicum Orientation for EDU303/503
All C & I Adolescence, TESOL and Childhood Education candidates who are registered for a EDU303/503 Practicum will be responsible for attending one of the two Practicum Orientation sessions for Spring 2010.
Sessions will be held on Friday, February 5th, 2010 in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom. You will be responsible for registering for one of these sessions when you sign up for a Practicum. Session 1 begins at 9:00am and Session 2 at 11:30am. Additionally, more information to follow for LeMoyne Elementary Placements.
