Student Teaching
To be eligible for New York State certification, all candidates registered in teacher education programs are required to student teach under a college supervisor who works cooperatively with a cooperating teacher to assist candidates in developing the needed teaching skills, knowledge, and dispositions. The Field Placement Office works closely with Curriculum & Instruction, the Technology Education, and the Vocational Teacher Preparation to arrange student teaching placements for all teacher candidates. The configuration and placement procedures for student teaching placements vary depending upon your program.
