SUNY Oswego candidates have the opportunity to choose to complete one or both student teaching placements in New York City. The pictures on linked pages show PS 306 in the Bronx, one of the New York City schools where SUNY Oswego places student teachers. The two candidates shown here completed their student teaching at PS 306 during Fall 2006.
The SUNY Urban Teachers Education Center (SUTEC) has a limited number of apartments available at Parkchester NYC for SUNY candidates to share while they complete their student teaching in New York City. These apartments are awarded on a first come/first served basis to candidates from SUNY campuses. SUTEC enhancements to the apartments, which include carpeting, air conditioning, telephone/internet/cable, do not appear in the sample apartment we show here. There are scholarships available to those in need to offset the difference between Parkchester NYC and on-campus housing costs.
