About the School of Education

At SUNY Oswego’s School of Education, we have a collective vision that we are all committed to — a vision we call weaving. Our faculty, staff, candidates, and partners continually weave strands of knowledge, practice, reflection, collaboration, and leadership to create a supportive, flexible fabric of learning.

Conceptual Framework and Professional Dispositions

At Oswego, you’ll experience — and learn to share with others in your own career — the ways in which authentic learning and social justice emerge as enduring patterns woven in the educational experiences of diverse students. Our conceptual framework and professional dispositions reflect the values and experiences of the School of Education’s faculty and staff. It precisely represents not only what we want our graduates to be able to do as professionals, but also what we as a faculty intend to model in our classrooms, laboratories, and in the field with our current learners.
