Motion to accept old minutes: Ariel

Old Business:

  • T-shirts!
    • It has been voted upon that our organization will be ordering the baseball style shirt.
    • The shirts will have dark gray sleeves with a heather gray body. They will say “Property of SUNY Oswego Theater Department” and will list this past season. The front will have the same B-Friars logo.
    • Anyone who wishes to buy a shirt should pay Mike Racioppa $7.50 by, or at, the next meeting. Thank you.
  • Student Theater Update:
    • The Student Theater Committee has gone through all of the proposals and have granted the allotment to the group planning an event on May 8th.
    • Nat, Nick and Kevin have decided to not use the money for sets and costuming, but are inquiring if someone would be so kind as to arrange a catering service and use the money they have been given. If you are interested please contact one of the three listed above.
    • If anyone has any last minute ideas for student theater, let Lucaya know.
  • The Meet and Greet:
    • The main purpose of this is to generate outside interest in our theater and is being hosted by Blackfriars and Alpha Psi.
    • As of right now, the date is set for the Tuesday of Dark Week, April 29, and will begin somewhere between 5 and 5:30.
    • There are a number of committees that need people to get involved: Games and Activities, Advertisement and Faculty Involvement. If you are interested in joining one of these, please contact Nat.

New Business:

  • Open House on Monday 4/7. Ariel needs some people to help her organize and man the booth.
  • We are still looking for a treasurer!
    • This is an appointed position, not one that is voted upon because of the amount of work that is required, as well as the great deal of money that the treasurer has to handle.
    • If you are interested in this position, please talk to Mike or Megan. We need to find a replacement soon so you can have the proper training and information to continue Megan’s great work.
  • Speaking of officers, elections are coming up soon!
    • There is extensive information on what all of the officers are and what they are to do on the B-friars website, as well as the election process. If you are thinking about running, check out the site.
  • B-friars Picnic:
    • May 10th at Fallbrook!!! (if you don’t know how to get there, no worries. We can either provide directions or a ride)
    • Yes, this is the same day as the Senior Showcase, but not to worry: this event will end in plenty of time so everyone can prepare themselves for the showcase.
    • The picnic should start around noon.
    • Lucaya will be there around 11 to set up and anyone available to help her would be greatly appreciated. She will also need assistance tearing down around 4.
    • If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know ASAP so you don’t go hungry. (This means you vegetarians!!!)

Announcements:

  • New Voices
    • This Saturday and Sunday at 7pm, the New Voices performance will take place. There will be a reception after the show on Saturday.
  • Unfortunately, Blackfriars is not able to participate in the Relay for Life event this spring, but one of our members has joined another team. Kim Saunders will be relaying with the screen studies group and would appreciate any donations people can offer. If you don’t already know this, it is $100 per person to walk in this charity event. Please help Kim out if you can.
  • If you can spare ANY time, please come into the scene or costume shops. We are in desperate need of anyone with any skill set, so don’t be afraid! This is a big show and all help will be appreciated.
  • Tomorrow the Theater Booth needs to be set up at noon, so if you have some free time, give them a hand.
