Physics Education Certification Requirements

Physics

For students who desire both a Physics and an Engineering degree, Oswego offers a 3/2 double degree program. Under this program students spend three years at Oswego working towards the Bachelor of Science in Physics before transferring to an undergraduate Engineering college. Completion of the Engineering degree usually requires two more years, but students gain the Oswego B.S. in Physics when they have earned appropriate transfer credit (frequently at the conclusion of their first year at the Engineering college). As an alternative to the 3/2 program, students may wish to consider completing their BS degree at Oswego and then access a masters degree program in engineering at another university. This option is increasingly the preferred one for students considering a career in industry at the interface of physics and engineering.
