Physics Department

The Physics Department is located in Snygg Hall at the eastern end of the lakeside campus. The Natural Science are currently undergoing a building renovation and addition. We look forward to the new facilities projected to open in the Fall of 2013.

Undergraduate physics majors assist with original research projects as part of their instructional program and thereby gain valuable practical experiences which serve them well after graduation. Other undergraduate laboratories include electronics, optics, modern physics, and electrical measurements.

Computers are used in all stages of the instructional program from the freshman laboratories through to the senior level advanced laboratories. However, the Physics Department is more than computers and experimental equipment. It is composed of dedicated individuals who are vitally interested in the success of their students and who work together to achieve their common goals. We feel that Oswego offers its students affordable, high-quality programs and an atmosphere for their successful completion.
