The mission of the Music Department is threefold. Our first mission is to provide learning activities appropriate to music majors and minors. Secondly, the department serves a critical role in offering courses to non-majors. Finally, the department provides a vital service to the campus community through its music-making at events ranging from receptions to Commencement, Torchlight and others too numerous to mention. The department also provides a vital service to the surrounding community through a variety of performances open to the public (50+ events annually) almost all of which are presented free of charge.
