Katia Viot-Southard

A French native, Dr. Viot-Southard joined our department in Fall 2008. With a degree in Communication & Journalism from EFAP in Paris, France, and a doctoral degree in French from Washington University in Saint-Louis, MO, she brings her experience and energy to our growing French program.

Dr. Viot-Southard’s doctoral specialty is 19th century French Literature & Theater, but her expertise extends in all areas of French literature, language & civilization. For her dedication to the profession she received two teaching awards in 2001 & 2005.

In addition to a successful teaching resumé she published and participated in organizing and presenting at various conferences. Her expertise is valuable and beneficial. Her students at SUNY Oswego highly appreciate her teaching style and warm personality.
