Human-Computer Interaction

The interdisciplinary master's degree program in human-computer interaction at Oswego incorporates the increasing infusion of complex technology into our everyday lives. The study of HCI has emerged as the "discipline concerned with the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive computing systems for human use and with the study of the major phenomena surrounding them" (ACM SIGCHI).

As HCI professionals require an understanding of both the computer systems that are being designed and the capabilities of the people using those systems, the HCI program at Oswego has been designed to emphasize that interdisciplinary approach. The program includes core courses in computer science and psychology with extensive elective opportunities in graphic design.

Extensive studio and internship opportunities will provide students with the optimal experience for successful placement upon graduation.
