Professor Elizabeth Keida

Professor Elizabeth Keida (formerly Benevento) received both her M.S. in Science Education and her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Syracuse University.  Professor Keida serves as the First Year Advisor and a First Choice Instructor for first year students in the Wellness Management major. Keida's teaching interests are in the area of physical activity, health promotion, and nutrition.  Her research interests are in the area of physical activity patterns in young children and the effects of high impact exercise on the development of musculoskeletal constraints.  Currently professor Keida collaborates with SUNY Upstate Medical University in Orthopedics Surgery to determine the effects of physical activity and diet on musculoskeletal development in young females and is performing research in high school and college-aged students to determine the relationship between nutrition and physical activity knowledge and behavior in order to combat diseases associated with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Professor Keida is also  a nationally certified YMCA Diabetes Educator
