CELEBRATING 20 YEARS!
Plans are underway to celebrate the 20th year of New Voices. New Voices is a student written-student directed 10-page play festival open to all SUNY Oswego students. Plays are selected by a committee comprised of students and faculty. Winners receive staged readings during a play festival held in March. The 20th annual festival will be held on March 9 & 10, 2013. BRAD KORBESMEYER GOES TO DEAN'S OFFICE
Brad Korbesmeyer, Associate Professor of English, has been appointed Interim Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Professor Korbesmeyer has been a faculty member in the Department of English and Creative Writing since 1991. During this time, he has produced numerous plays and screenplays and has been recognized internationally for his award-winning productions.
As many of you already know first-hand, he has an extraordinary reputation as an outstanding teacher, mentor and academic advisor. He is the recipient of the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, President's Award for Excellence in Academic Advisement, and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society's national "Love of Learning" award. He is the co-founder and mentor of New Voices, a student playwriting competition at SUNY Oswego, now in its 18th year.
Korbesmeyer earned a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Fine Arts in Playwriting from Carnegie Mellon University.
Professor Korbesmeyer has a true passion for building quality in academic programs and a demonstrated commitment to serving our students and community with excellence and care. He will be an outstanding new leader at SUNY Oswego.
