Data analyzed on teacher learning and results (e.g. Faculty surveys, teachers reflective journals)

Team assisted in the proofing and provided feedback on a series of conference presentations and papers written by Dr. Eric A. Olson.  Teachers articulated that they highly valued the forum of the inquiry group as a means of reflecting on their practice and felt it increased the level of esteem with which they held the profession and their own place as educators.  (see written papers for a fuller description)

Data analyzed on student learning and results: (e.g. annual literacy assessments/NYS report card disaggregated data for 4th grade ELA, analysis of rubric scores on students writing samples each quarter for students in v.s. not in the program):

Team focus on disaggregating and analyzing student testing data from the Regents’ Exam.  There wasno clear improvement in student test scores, however there was some evidence from an informal survey and from teacher’s stated opinions that the participation in the inquiry group made some positive impact in student feelings about the subject of science as well as improved student critical thinking skills.
