Richard Metzgar is a visual artist specializing in works on paper and installation art. A recipient of two New York Foundation for the Arts Special Opportunity Stipends, recent installations with audio include Collection Intersection [Altered] (Keuka College) and Collection Intersection (Wells College). Participation in recent group exhibitions include Alumni Invitational 2001 (Rochester Institute of Technology), Materials, Substance, Form: To Last Or Not To Last (Pyramid Arts Center), New York Correspondence School Exhibition (Whitney Museum of American Art) and the 1998 Everson Biennial (Everson Museum of Art). Current research involves a digital montage series entitled Subject/Social Space/Interior which locates the interior as a site for the construction of a fictive narrative.
