Students exhibit, collaborate and work closely with professors and younger students -- even those of elementary school age -- in a vibrant department abounding with opportunities for interaction. Student groups like Arts Alive!, Break Thru Design and the Student Art Exhibition Committee are among the most active clubs on campus and are all recognized student organizations. Working as individual groups as well as collaborative, events by the groups attract people for across the campus and the community.
Break Thru Designs
Break Thru Designs is the student-run graphic design club at SUNY Oswego. The goal of the club is to raise awareness of graphic design in the community. Although any student may join, graphic design students will especially benefit from this club. Members have the opportunity to become members of the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), a nationally recognized organizations for professional graphic designers. Students are encouraged to bring in class or personal projects to be critiqued and receive constructive feedback form club members.
A student run organization for those interested in the visual/studio arts, the group organizes student exhibitions, studio critiques, field trips, workshops, and other art related events and activities. Some popular activities include Championship Painting, Open Figure Drawing, and Film Night.

Student Art Exhibition Committee
The SAEC provides support and feedback to Tyler Art Gallery and plays a vital role in gallery programming. The SAEC has been an active sponsor and participant in SUNY Oswego's Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, which is traditionally the most popular gallery event of the academic year. The club also sponsors annual fund raising events such as the Art Auction, which raises money for student travel. The club is open to all SUNY Oswego students.
