The Marketing major at SUNY Oswego is intended to introduce students to the concepts and tools employed by marketing management professionals. Marketing management encompasses a wide range of activities directed toward planning, implementation and control of marketing programs for both profit seeking and non-profit organizations. Emphasis in the academic program centers on engaging students in projects and presentations which allow them to apply the principles of marketing to actual business problems.
Business students have the opportunity of preparing their semester schedule or to track the progress of their degrees with the following advisement document.

Marketing and Management
The BS degrees in Business Administration, Human
Resource Management, Marketing, and Management Sciences are offered through
the Department of Marketing and Management. The BS in Business Administration
is a general business degree, which gives students a background in general
management, and the opportunity to focus their studies on a selected concentration.
The BS degree programs in Human Resource Management and Marketing provide
the student the opportunity to study these disciplines at the advanced level
and to gain professional experiences in these fields. The BS in Management
Science offers two specializations, Management Information Systems and Management
Science/Operations. The department also offers minors in Business Administration
and International Business.
