Thomas Tribunella is originally from Webster, NY and attended Niagara University for his BBA. He went on for his MBA at Rochester Institute of Technology and during his final semester, he was given the opportunity to teach courses for the school of business at SUNY Geneseo. Professor Tribunella attended SUNY Albany for his Ph.D. He also has his CPA license through New York. Professor Tribunella has published over 35 journal article, case studies, book chapter, and conference proceedings.

Professor Tribunella began working at SUNY Oswego in 2006 and became tenured in 2012. He has also taught at the University of Rochester, SUNY Institute of Technology and is a lead instructor for Becker CPA Review Course. His most recent publications has been published in The CPA Journal, Journal of Business, and International Journal of Business and Social Science. He has won four best paper awards at peer reviewed conferences. Outside of teaching, he is the director and founder of the Center for Accounting Research and Education at SUNY Oswego and a manuscript reviewer for The CPA Journal. In his free time, Professor Tribunella enjoys boating and camping with his wife and two children.

Research

Thomas Tribunella has been teaching, publishing, and consulting for over 25 years in the fields of accounting and information systems. His most recent research has focused on psychology of fraud, U.S. income tax policy, forensic accountants and reverse mortgages. In the past, he has held teaching positions at the Rochester Institute of Technology and SUNY Geneseo.
