A streamlined design with up-to-date backend technology and a brighter look made for a more engaging college website, unveiled in 2010.
A cross-functional team of campus staff members worked two years on the project, from choosing the new XML-based content management system to migrating thousands of pages to the new design. The result helps both the college’s hundreds of Web editors and thousands of daily visitors more easily do what they wish when using the site.
During orientation, incoming freshmen participated in an informal survey of the prototype designs, just one of many stakeholder groups providing feedback that polished and improved the end product.
“Web trends evolve so quickly,” said Tim Nekritz, director of Web communications. “We want to make sure we’re current and even thinking ahead.”
