The SBDC is a major public-private partnership between government and higher education. A team of professional counselors provides one-on-one services to small businesses and entrepreneurs, helping businesses plan and resolve organizational, financial, marketing, technical and other business-related issues.
The Small Business Development Center is co-sponsored by the US Small Business Administration and SUNY Oswego through the Office of Business and Community Relations. The SBDC works with entrepreneurs on a one-to-one basis to develop winning business plans, find appropriate sources of funding, and provides management information, market research, and additional resources.

How do I make initial contact with the SBDC?
Your first step is to call the Oswego SBDC at(315) 312-3492 to setup an appointment with an advisor to discuss your business in detail. You can also fill out our online Request for Counseling form.
What will the SBDC services cost me?
The SBDC one-on-one professional counseling services are free and confidential. Throughout the year, SUNY Oswego SBDC will offer several in-depth courses or workshops on specific topics which require a small fee. Be sure to ask the counselor what courses and workshops are scheduled in the near future.
Can the SBDC lend me money?
No, the SBDC does not have money to lend to individuals starting small businesses, but the SBDC can help you put together a good business plan and assist you in obtaining funding.
