Family-friendly naturalist-led walk. Participants should dress for the weather and call 315-312-6677 on the morning of the hike to check trail conditions. Program size is limited, unable to accommodate groups. Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Free.

Planetarium Show: "The Stars of Summer"
Planetarium operator Rich Frieman will lead an exploration of the summertime night sky, locating bright asterisms and constellations that amateur astronomers can observe from their backyards. With the aid of the dome, participants will also observe some beautiful and awe-inspiring deep sky objects that reside within the boundaries of these summertime constellations. Star maps will be provided for the audience to take home. Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Free, including parking in the Centennial Drive lot (E17) or Washington Boulevard lot (C8). 315-312-2790.

In this webinar, the presenters will share two perspectives on using Web Conferencing (Elluminate) to supplement online courses: the instructional designer's and the professor's view. Reena Lederman Gerard Is the campus Online Instructional Designer for SUNYIT. She holds a M.Ed. in instructional technology from University of Georgia and a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University Polytechnic at Pomona . Prior to her master's studies, Reena taught elementary, Spanish bi-lingual 5th grade in Los Angeles and middle school language arts and reading in both Seattle , and later in Phoenix . Russell Kahn Is a professor in the Communication and Information Design program at the State University of New York, Institute of Technology (SUNYIT) in Utica. He is also the director of the master's program in information design and technology at SUNYIT. In 2004, he received STC's Jay R. Gould Award for excellence in teaching and mentoring and last year he was named an STC associate fellow. (More about Russell)
