State Government Finance, By State
- This page, provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, contains information on state budgets.
The State of the Nation's Cities: A Comprehensive Database on American Cities and Suburbs
- This study of 77 American cities and suburbs was conducted by the Center for Urban Policy Research at Rutgers University for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Over 3,000 variables have been included for each city, including information on AFDC, AIDS, demographic characteristics, homeless population, household and family income,poverty, pollution, and labor market conditions. The data may be downloaded in ASCII, SAS, EXCEL, or SPSS portable formats.
Tax Stats
- This page, provided by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, contains a wide variety of downloadable files containing taxation statistics. Most of the data appears in either ascii or a spreadsheet format.
