- Abe Books
- A consortium of independent booksellers that provides an extensive list of rare and out of print books.
- Alibris
- A great place to search for rare and out of print books.
- Amazon Books
- This site claims to be the earth's biggest bookstore containing an index of
over 1 million titles. This site allows visitors to request email notification of new releases by a particular author or in a particular genre.
- Atomic Books
- A Baltimore bookstore containing an unusual variety of publications. They claim to cater to every kind of extreme.
- Barnes and Noble
- One of the world's largest bookstores online. (While it's more convenient, it's not nearly as much fun as visiting the Barnes and Noble on 5th Ave and 18th St. in Manhattan...)
- BookZone
- This more sedate site allows you to buy books and audiobooks on line.
- W.H. Smith
- A UK bookstore.
