Don't
be afraid to ask questions in class. It's
better to ask a dumb question and look stupid for a second than totally
screw up and have people KNOW you're stupid. J
Believe it or not, professors like when you visit them in office
hours and ask for help!!!
It's
ok that you don't know what you want to do in
the
future. I am a senior and am
still not positive which of my two fields I would like to go into.
Over 90% of Oswego
students change
their majors while in college. I
changed my major 3 times and I’m still graduating
in 4.5 years
(Double Major). Also, don't
make uninformed decisions. See
or contact your peer advisor to help you with any
problems, registration, or just in general J
BALANCE!!!
It should be your mantra...
You can always socialize later, but you can't write that 10 page paper
that's due tomorrow later.
Speaking
from personal experience, I went from getting the B to C range on exams to
the B+ to A range because of a change in my study habits. By reading the chapters for selected courses throughout the
duration of the course instead of the night before the exam, it allowed me
to retain the information much easier.
I dare you to try it! You’ll
be surprised…
This
is the time of your life that will define who you are. The friends you make
now will be yours for life. Choose
wisely and don’t be afraid to BE YOURSELF.
ARE
YOU GAINING WEIGHT? Is it hard
for you to choose nutritiously in the dining hall and you find yourself
eating fried food and more fried food?
Be in control of your choices and think of what it is doing to your
body. I gained 30 pounds from freshman year to junior year.
This past summer I decided to make a change and eat healthy and
exercise….I lost 32 pounds….thanks to Dr. Phil McGraw.

What
were those 15 things I wish someone had told me as a freshman?
